Gamble's OFA Health Test Results

Tizzy's OFA Health Test Results

We are excited and very thankful to have the opportunity to add Gamble's bloodlines to our program. We have long admired the Verdoro Golden Retrievers of Canada and the consistent quality achieved by their master breeder Ann Greenbank. Fortunately for us, we have had the opportunity for years to see Verdoro dogs in person at dog shows and Gamble caught out eye as a wonderful complement for out Tizzy. It is a thrilling proposition to have the potential of adding the many wonderful traits carried by these exceptional dogs. This is a breeding we have been dreaming of.

Both Tizzy and Gamble have verifiable health certifications for hips, elbows, eyes (completed within the last 12 months) and heart (by a cardiologist). Their health result statuses indicate that our expected puppies will not be affected for any Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) variant, Ichthyosis, Neuronal Ceriod Lipofuscinosis (NCL) or Degenerative Myelopathy.

Puppies of this high quality are rarely available in the United States or Arizona. Don't be fooled by breeders charging in the same price range who offer far less in value. When we say health is a top priority, we mean it. We meet and exceed the health testing standard in our country as set forth by the Golden Retriever Club of America and upheld by OFA's Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) program. Both Gamble and Tizzy have earned CHIC designation. We go a step further and test for the following genetic diseases.

Progressive Retinal Atrophy -

Also know as PRA. There are three variants of this breed know to be found in Goldens. It is a hereditary blinding disorder.

Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis -

Commonly known as NCL. Dogs identified as affected in 2019 have brought this disease into the spotlight for Goldens. Though not thought to be rampant in the breed, this disease is a death sentence for affected dogs and most with this disease will have to be euthanized prior to their third birthday.

Ichtyosis -

There is a Golden Retriever specific variant that is very common especially in Goldens with recent European heritage. Though affected dogs may not display symptoms, this skin flaking disorder can be unsightly or quality of life impacting for symptomatic dogs.

Degenerative Myelopathy -

This is a devastating degenerative spinal cord disease.

Most of our puppy homes don't want to show their dogs. But, we believe that most people choose us because they want a Golden that looks and acts like a Golden. Showing our dogs to Championships is all about having unbiased, independent, experts evaluate our dogs to ensure we are breeding high quality dogs. This external feedback keeps the quality of our dogs high and ensures we keep the ideal Golden in mind when selecting puppy parent pairings.

Before investing your money or more importantly your heart, ask any breeder you are considering to show you proof of their claims.
